Andorra

While visiting Barcelona, I decided to capitalize on being so close to Andorra by booking The Original Three Countries in One Day tour from Explore Catalunya. I choose this tour over others because it includes a stop in Axe-Les-Thermes, a quaint French village nestled in the Pyrenees Mountains known for its healing thermal spas. This tour also includes a stop at the Andorra border to get your passport stamped. Despite not being a member of the EU or Schengen Area, Andorra is quite welcoming and does not require visitors to go through border control as it only has two points of entry; one at the north (French) side and another at the south (Spanish) side of the country. We entered from France and drove the main road through, exiting back into Spain. Andorra is known for skiing and low taxes. Being summer, we were only able to enjoy the latter. In the capital city of Andorra la Vella, there are plenty of shops to take advantage of the low tax benefits. Some of the most popular items include luxury items and alcohol. In the middle of the town on the river, we saw the Puente Andorra la Vieja and Noblesa del Temps by Salvador Dalí.
