Mexico City: A Perfect Destination for Food, Culture, and Adventure

Mexico City offers natural beauty, rich culture, and delicious food. Recently, Zach and I had the opportunity to explore this incredible city and we loved it! As the largest city in North America, Mexico City offers plenty to see and experience, from its gorgeous neighborhoods to its ancient ruins.

Our home base for this trip was the Hyatt Regency in the gorgeous Polanco neighborhood. We had a fabulous stay thanks to the free daily breakfast, USD$100 property credit we spent at Teppan Grill, and our upgrade to a room with fantastic views of Chapultepec Park – the second largest park in Latin America! When you book your trip with Travelling Anniewhere, you'll get access to these same incredible perks, making your stay in Mexico City even more memorable.

During our trip, we explored the city's rich cultural heritage by visiting the Museum of Anthropology to see the famous Aztec Sun Stone and the ancient Aztec ruins of Templo Mayor in the heart of the city center. We admired the incredible art at Frida Kahlo's home, La Casa Azul, and marveled at Diego Rivera's murals, including "Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in Alameda Park" and "Man at the Crossroads". We also took a sunrise ride over the ancient ruins of Teotihuacan and the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon in a hot air balloon, which was a bucket list experience. We cheered on luchadores at the Mexico Arena, the world's oldest lucha libre arena, and enjoyed the live music of mariachi bands and street food while sailing down the canals of Xochimilco in a colorful trajinera.

And, of course, we enjoyed plenty of delicious food. Mexico City is a foodie's dream, and we met multiple people who were visiting solely for the food scene or were return visitors because of the food. From street food to fine dining, we indulged in a variety of dishes, including tacos al pastor, churros with chocolate, Mexican hot chocolate, esquites, and mole. The food in Mexico City is truly amazing, and we can't wait to go back and try more.

Overall, we both agreed that we'll be returning to Mexico City to explore more of what this incredible destination has to offer. If you're a foodie or just want to experience the vibrant culture and history of this incredible city, feel free to reach out! With my expertise and insider knowledge, you're sure to have an unforgettable trip to this amazing city.
